We hope this FAQ answers some of your questions regarding E-learning Foundry courses. If it doesn't, feel free to contact us.
Are E-learning Foundry web-based training courses a series of QuickTime videos?
No, our web-based courses are not QuickTime videos. They are interactive, Flash-based courses. While QuickTime is a great technology, our courses seek to teach rather than just show.
What's the difference between your web-based training and blended learning solutions?
Our web-based training courses are the most effective way to train independent learners and learners who are scattered over a large geographical area. Our web-based courses are also perfect for schools and school boards looking for an effective, affordable way to deliver training. Our blended learning solutions are ideal for teacher trainers who want to run an effective training class. Blended learning solutions also reduce post-class problems by including online demonstrations and simulations that allow the learner to brush up on anything they've forgotten.
I'm a school administrator and I'm strapped for time as it is. Will implementing e-learning in my school add to my workload?
E-learning Foundryweb-based courses make it easy to train any number of your staff at the same time. We also take care of the little details like learner management. We will sign up your users and get them up to speed with our learning management system and the courseware. If you would like a more hands-on approach, we can send you user logs or posttest data and even customize a course to be delivered from your school server. Finally, we'll help you promote e-learning within your organization to increase course completion rates.
In short, we're here to make training easier, not harder.
Will you send me the web-based training course course on CD?
No. Web-based courses are delivered through our web site. This allows us to quickly make corrections and updates to the courses.
How long does it take to complete a web-based training course?
Our web-based training courses are about the same length as a one-day training session. Of course, we don't recommend completing the course in a single day. Courses are broken down into small chunks of information, making them easy to complete a little at a time.
How do I enroll in a web-based training course?
First, select a course from our courses page and click the buy link. You will be transported to a web site called Kagi. Kagi handles all our online transactions.
Once you pay for your course, we'll send you a username and password so that you can access our learning management system. You'll be able to launch the course from there.
Do you offer bulk discounts?
We do offer discounts for larger orders. Contact us for pricing information.
What are the system requirements for running the web-based training courses?
If your computer is online, it's likely you can run our courses. A broadband connection is recommended but you will be able to get by with a 56k modem and some patience. You must also have the Flash 6 plug-in installed on your browser. We support most major browsers. A minimum screen resolution of 800 x 600 is required. Some courses require sound cards. Specific requirements for each course are listed in the detailed, downloadable course outlines. Select a course on the courses page and download an outline.
What courses are available, what's in them, and how much do they cost?
